The Model 1605P and NEW 1615P and the NEW 1615P form the low-latency EU processing hub of Acroamatics' industry leading high performance multi-stream telemetry front-end TDP family of range system processing solutions (Model 2900P, 2900AP, 3022P, and Tempest qualified AK-211). The  Model 1605P and NEW 1615P  and NEW 1615P multi-stream Programmable Data Stream Processors (PDSP) cards each support deterministic data-driven merging and card embedded EU processing of PCM streams from up to 8 Model 1612P system PCM decom/processing modules, IRIG time, Fibre interfaced HOTLink input, and PCI user defined and 3rd party device input data. The new Model 1615P supports higher system processing rates (to 4MS/sec) allowing card embedded low latency processing and distribution of  multiple simultaneous output data products, providing ample resources with which to drive both raw and processed data recording, networked  data distributions, reconstruction and output of a any input or user defined (select merged raw input stream fed data) frame encoded PCM stream, and delivery of low latency (micro-second typ) processed data to drive a variety of user defined and third party display and processing application requirements.


Operating entirely independent of Windows OS processing applications, the 1615P and 1605P and NEW 1615P each support system OS independent  card embedded complex EU and derived (if / then / else) low latency data processing, offering a library of over 400 native telemetry processing algorithms. and API support for programming of application unique user defined processes. Processing of up to 7th order polynomials is supported.


The 482M D to A Converter mezzanine companion module provides direct coupled very low latency I/O of up to 32 DAC & Discrete outputs and 16 Analog input data channels.  Two configurations of 482M are available. 482M-8 provides a total of 8 channels of 12-bit D-to-A output. The Model 482P-32 provides a total of 32 channels of 12-bit D to A output plus 16 channels of 12-bit A-to-D input with a 400 KHz sample rate.


When a larger numbers (from 64 to 2048) of low-latency direct analog strip-chart or discrete outputs is desired - or for driving strip-chart printers located up to 4000 feet away - the Model New1615 and legacy 1605P and NEW 1615P both support direct high-speed fibre- driven networked connection and operations using the unique Acroamatics Model 2425 DAC Mux data output unit. The Model 2425 is a networked device designed to provide Acroamatics Telemetry Data Processing front-ends  the ability to support very low latency (< 1usec - input stream and desired measurand data sample rate dependent) delivery of remote strip-chart data and dynamic sharing of many stripchart recorder to remote (or locally) located printers. Each Model 2425 supports 64 channel DAC and Discrete data output, and up to thirty-two (32) individual Model 2425 DAC Mux units may be interconnected, with each DAC Mux network designed service shared use by up to seven (7) TDP TM processing systems.

Input Bus


The 1605P and NEW 1615P and NEW 1615P each interface data from eight possible Model 1612P or 1602P PCM Frame Synchronizer cards, an IRIG port, a HOTLink® port, an optional Model 482P Analog to Digital port mezzanine card, or fibre-couple 2425 DAC MUX Each datum is distributed as two 32-bit words. The first word is the identifier - containing time, status, and an ID tag, and the second word is the data. The hardware supports up to 131,072 unique ID tags.




The 1605P and NEW 1615P use the ID tag value accompanying a datum to address a table in onboard memory that defines the processing, routing, and post-processing destination of each input datum.


Device Bus


Provides an interface to such devices as digital-to-analog outputs, digital discrete outputs, a local feedback to the Input Bus, serial HOTLink® output, and a 60 MB/sec streaming PCI bus host DMA channel.


Host Interface


Provides controls for running the 1605P and NEW 1615P as well as outputting and receiving data from the Device Bus. The PCI bus host DMA channel provides a data path to and from host memory and devices.




An Analog Devices SHARC® DSP performs simultaneous multiplier and ALU operations in a single clock. The DSP is user-programmable with ADI software, which includes an optional C compiler.


Input Data


Six 16-bit input types are supported: 2’s Complement, 1’s Complement, sign magnitude, offset binary, unsigned magnitude, and binary-coded-decimal. Three 32-bit types are supported: signed integers, IEEE, & MIL-STD floating point.


Output Data


Five 16-bit output types are supported: 2’s complement, 1’s complement, sign magnitude, offset binary, and unsigned magnitude. Four 32-bit types are supported: signed & unsigned integers, IEEE & MIL-STD floating point.




Over 400 telemetry algorithms are provided, plus sequential algorithm chaining and user-defined expression processing. Algorithms include integer-to-floating point and floating point-to-integer conversion, limit and bit testing, data packing, linear data scaling, 7th order conversion, table lookup conversion, derived parameter calculation, and custom output formatting.




Algorithm execution times range from a few hundred nanoseconds to several microseconds, with a maximum throughput for processed data of approximately 2.6 (1605P) and > 4 (new 1615P)  Million Samples per second.




Operating as a data reconstructor or simulator, the 1605P and NEW 1615P accepts digital data from archival storage and reconstructs the original data stream, permitting the reprocessing and analysis of stored data. The Reconstructor may be set to output data at real-time, multiples, or fractions of the real-time rate.




Accepts data from the PCI bus via DMA or selected data from direct IBus fed low latency PCM decom input real-time stream and performs serialization and output at a selectable bit rate. This capability allows real-time retransmission of selected subsets of the input data in a user defined Frame defined data format at a precisely metered user defined output data rate (Model 1615P supporting output rates to 40 Mbps)
